The Probate Court record, RS 71 Saint John County Probate Records Cassidy, Ethel Elizabeth 1899, provides the following information: "That your petitioner has no real estate whatever and no personal estate except a paid up policy made payable to her on the life of her father, Edward Wellington Cassidy, of the present value of one hundred and thirty one dollars in the Travellers Insurance Company and has no other means of support." The judge, Arthur I. Trueman, degreed that "Sara Jane Rogers be appointed guardian and was authorized to spend for the maintenance and support of said Ethel Elizabeth Cassidy annually the sum of thirty dollars."

In 1904, Ethel was taking a course in nursing in Tewsbury, Mass. Her religious affiliation was Baptist.
Ethel is buried in Fitzwilliam, NH.
