Show Details Shared Note: - Melvin held several jobs, most notably he worked for Raytheon Corporation in Mass., from which he received a small retirement. We are not sure specifically what work he did. He wandered throuhg most of his working life from job to job. N o one in the family remembers him having any less than three jobs at any given period of time. He was good with his hands and loved electronics, always having the latest electronic gadgets around the house.

Melvin was an accomplished fisherman and amateur radio enthusiast. He was one of the first people to be licensed by the FCC. His call sign was W1SE. William Kenneth Cassidy is the owner of the license and maintains its requirements. ‏(2002)‏ Melvin's love of fishing is evident in many of his descendants.

Melvin died in Annapolis, Maryland on January 31, 1992 of natural causes. Sadly, he witnessed the death of two of his sons, Melvin Jr. and Paul, and his wife Julie. It seemed that he just gave up on living.
