Show Details Shared Note: - Pearl and Steen are noted for the travelling they do: five times across Canda, more trips than they can remember to Florida, Texas, New Orleans, California, Washington and New York; Alaska, Northwest Territories, Australia, Belise, Hawai i, three tours of Europe and even a journey on the Concord supersonic jet. And most of their travelling is done in a camper van.

Pearl and Steen met during the War while working for Boeing on Sea Island, in Richmond. Steen later worked as a First Aid attendant on projects in the North. Later, in Kitimat, he joined Alcan and stayed 15 years during which time Pearl went to work for the Post Office.

In 1969, Pearl transferred to Ladysmith and worked for Postmaster Chuck Irving until she retired in 1982. Her ashes were scattered in the ocean at Transfer Beach, Ladysmith, BC on February 10, 2004.
