Shared Note
| Shared Note: - Pearl and Steen are noted for the travelling they do: five times across Canada, more trips than they can remember to Florida, Texas, New Orleans, California, Washington and New York; Alaska, Northwest Territories, Australia, Belise, Hawa ii, three tours of Europe and even a journey on the Concord supersonic jet. And, most of their travelling is done in a camper van. Pearl and Steen met during the War while working for Boeing on Sea Island, in Richmond. Steen later worked as a First Aid attendant on projects in the North. Later, in Kitimat, he joined Alcan and stayed 15 years during which time Pearl went to work for the Post Office.
In 1969, Pearl transferred to Ladysmith and worked for Postmaster Chuck Irving until she retired in 1982.

He had a heart attack this morning and went into congestive heart failure. We think he may have had a small stroke two weeks ago but it barely slowed him down. The end was quick and merciful."
