Shared Note: - Francis, or Uncle Frank as he was known to Teddy Lane, was in the Army National Guard in 1916 and was sent to Mexican border war with General Black Jack. He then was sent overseas in WW I with the Rainbow Division to France. He was liste d as missing in action but later turned up in a hospital. When he returned from the war, he enlisted in the Mass State Police and served at the Framingham Barracks. He was Quartermaster at the Armory on Commonwealth Ave in Boston. Frank told of being struck by lightning in a tent. It picked him up and carried him across the tent. The fellow in the bed next to him died.
He built a camp site in Billrica, Mass. Teddy Lane remembers going there many times during the summers of 1946-48.
From a letter to Mid Cassidy dated Aug. 20, 1950 we know that Frank and Ella's address was Box 341, Billerica, Mass. We show that Frank died in 1953, but we question that given the information in his father's obituary.
