Shared Note	The following information provided by Patricia K. Cassidy: Obituary from The Daily Telegraph, Saint John, N.B. on Monday, April 6, 1899: "The sudden death of Mr. Edward W. Cassidy, a popular CPR ‏(Canadian Pacific Railroad)‏ conductor, caused much regret. He was suddenly stricken with paralysis Monday and died Tuesday evening. Mr. Cassidy's wife died recently and nine children are left alone, the eldest being about 17 years of age." Edward and Mary are buried in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Saint John, N.B. Mary Susan's father was John Murdoch, mother Elizabeth.
Note	The 1881 Census for St. Stephen, Charlotte County, NB has Edward Cassiday age 25, married, born 1856 in New Brunswick, religion Canada Presbyterian Church, nationality Irish, occupation Rail Road; and Mary S. Cassiday age 25, married, born 1856 in New Brunswick. They are living with or next to Maryâ€™s mother Elizabeth Murdock and Maryâ€™s sister Sarah and brother Andrew. The 1891 Census for Saint John, Portland Victoria Ward has Edward Cassidy as: head of household, age 35, born New Brunswick, religion Presbyterian, occupation Steam R.R. Conductor; also wife Mary age 35, born New Brunswick, religion Presbyterian; and, Ethel age 8, Daisy age 7, Payson age 6, Claude age 4, Hazel age 3, Ruth age 1, Tresa‏[Susa]‏Donnelly age 16, occupation domestic. McAlpineâ€™s Saint John City Directory 1892-93. Edward W. Cassidy, conductor, CPR is living at 26 Castle Street. Also living at the same address is Roderick T. Mack, drug clerk. ‏(* only head of household is listed)‏. This is the same Roderick and Ella Mack family that Ruth Cassidy is living with in Fredericton in 1901.
