A graduate of Queen's University, Norah has had an active career as a free lance TV broadcaster with CBC and as a university public relations director in Montreal and Ottawa. She was‏(1989)‏ Executive Director of The Canadian Women's Found ation, a national non-profit fund raising organization. Active in issues related to equal opportunities for women, she served as a member of the Canadian Advisory Council on the Status of Women from 1973-78 and received the Jubilee Medal in 1977 in recognition of her community service.

Norah was diagnosed with cancer in the summer of 1997 and died in 1998 in Kingston, Ontario where she was living in retirement.
