Maria Rendall Morris was the daughter of George Morris b. Tyron, 13 January 1834, d. Swansea, Great Britian of kidney disease 17 Feb. 1878 and Elizabeth ‏(Eliza)‏ Fitzpatrick of Halifax, Nova Scotia b. Ireland, ca. 1830, d. Ladner, BC before September 1908.

Maria's grandparents were Capt. John and Maria Morris of Mill River.According to Linda Jean Nicholson, George and Eliza moved to Kensington, PEI for a brief period. Then Eliza is found in Mill River after George died living near/with George's family. The Morris family were initially Church of England and later Wesleyan Methodist. Maria was baptized in the United Church, Kensington.
