From Russel's obituary in the Saint John Telegraph Journal: He was a graduate of UNB and the University of Toronto. His early teaching career included: Bristol, NB, Dorchester, NB and RCS Rothesay, NB. Having taught for many years in the academic department of Saint John Vocational School and later at Rockwood Park Elementary School, he had great satisfaction following the accomplishments of his many students. While he summered his family at Epworth Park he enjoyed being a member of the Westfield Golf and Country Club. In his retirement he enjoyed spendig time with his grandchildren. Memorial service was at Brenan's Chapel in Saint John. Interment is in Fernhill Cemetery. ‏(2009)‏
