Shared Note	The following information provided by Patricia K. Cassidy: The census of 1871 for Charlotte Co., Parish of St. Stephen has James A. as: head of household, age 48, born New Brunswick, religion Church of England, origin Irish, occupation farmer. Elizabeth was 45 and Richard 20. Richard and James H. were also listed as farmers. It showes Edward 16, Lucille 15, Andrew 14, Mary 10, and Anna 5. The census of 1881 for Charlotte Co., Town of St. Stephen has James A. age 59, working as a House Carpenter. Elizabeth 56 and Eleanor A. age 14. All the rest had left the household. From the adoption records of Florence Cassidy we note that as of 1904, all the children of James A. were deceased. He was 80 years old and living in California. Roberta Zieske found the death certificate for James A. Also, the 1910 US Census San Diego, CA 9th Ward Enumeration Dist No 164 page 172B lists: James A Cassidy 88 family #279 from Canada own income.
Note	US Census of 1850 James Cassidy in Lowell, Mass. US Census 1900 James Cassidy in St. Paul, Minn. Has grandson, Chester. US Census 1910 James Cassidy in San Diego, CA. Year of immigration 1888. Brian Cassidy says James may have gone to Lowell, Mass around 1840, then returned to Canada in the mid 1850s to marry. From there to St. Stephen where he shows up in the 1871 and 1881 census. Then moving to Minnesota in 1888 and on to San Diego in the early 1900s.
